Honda Motor Co (7267.T) said it would slice production by up to 30% in Japan one month from now against original plans because of persistent supply chain and logistical problems.
Two lines at its Suzuka plant in western Japan will diminish production by around 10% this month and by around 30% toward the beginning of August versus past plans, Honda expressed late on Thursday.
Its assembly plant in Saitama prefecture, north of Tokyo, will likewise scale back production by around 10% early next month.
Honda has not revealed its monthly production target.
Automakers have been not able to shake off the effect of COVID-19 lockdowns in China and a deficiency of semiconductors.
Toyota Motor Corp said for this present week its global production for August would be around 700,000 units, down generally 18% from its plans toward the start of the year.
