An Alabama backup defensive back has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Ronald Williams, a previous four-star junior college signee who was essential for the Crimson Tide’s 2020 recruiting class, went into the portal on Friday, AL.com has learned.
In spite of the fact that Williams was seen as a likely quick starter at nickel back when he signed with the Tide, it was then-then-freshmen Malachi Moore and Brian Branch who arose as the team’s best two alternatives at the position during 2020 fall camp. Williams was then interfered with by an arm injury that made him miss the starting piece of the season, ended up playing in only three games as a save and didn’t appear to be in line to be a starter this year.
