Analogue 3D N64 Console Delayed to July 2025

The highly anticipated Analogue 3D retro console has been delayed once again. Initially announced for release in 2024, then pushed to Q1 2025, the premium $249.99 Nintendo 64 remake with 4K output and Bluetooth controller support is now expected to ship “by July 2025.” Analogue, known for its FPGA-powered modern recreations of classic gaming consoles, made the announcement earlier today, citing the need for additional time to perfect the system.

Analogue 3D: A Modern Take on a Classic

The Analogue 3D aims to bring nostalgia to life with cutting-edge technology. Unlike traditional emulators, it utilizes FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) technology, which allows for 100% compatibility with original Nintendo 64 cartridges from any region. The console promises an authentic retro gaming experience with enhanced visuals, ensuring crisp 4K output for modern displays.

Competition on the Horizon

The delay comes at a critical time, as competition in the retro gaming market heats up. ModRetro, the Game Boy-focused company founded by Palmer Luckey, has teased its own upcoming N64 console, potentially drawing attention away from the Analogue 3D. Luckey even hinted on social media that it’s “Never too late to change your mind” regarding Analogue 3D pre-orders, suggesting gamers may have alternatives sooner than expected.

Customer Support & Refund Policy

Despite the setback, Analogue reassures customers that its 100% refund policy remains in place for canceled pre-orders. The company issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to delivering a high-quality product:

“We are working hard to get your 3D order in hands asap and appreciate your patience. If you have an open preorder, no action is needed.”

Additionally, Analogue will send out confirmation emails a week before shipping to ensure that customers’ addresses are up to date.

What’s Next for Analogue?

With the competition gaining traction, Analogue must work efficiently to maintain its lead in the retro gaming market. The continued delay raises concerns about whether the console will launch without further pushbacks. However, with its reputation for high-quality remakes of NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy consoles, the Analogue 3D is still one of the most anticipated gaming releases of the year.

As we await further updates, retro gaming enthusiasts will have to decide whether to stick with Analogue’s promise of perfection or explore new alternatives in the growing N64 revival scene.
