Apple and Microsoft are cooperating so the new Xbox Series X and Series S controllers will deal with iPhones and iPads. Right now, the new controllers are not formally upheld in iOS or iPadOS, however Apple says “Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring compatibility for the Xbox Series X controller to customers in a future update.”
This isn’t the first run through the two organizations have needed to take a shot at improving Xbox controller support. Apple worked with Microsoft to add uphold for the Xbox Elite 2 regulator and the Xbox Adaptive Controller to iOS 14 prior this year. The help appeared almost a year after the Elite 2’s delivery, however.
It’s not satisfactory what amount of time it will require for Apple to confirm the new Series X regulators, yet there are signs that DualSense backing may come soon. Apple Insider announced as of late that iOS 14.3, which is as of now in beta, “appears to include behind-the-scenes support” for the PS5’s DualSense controller.
Apple hasn’t referenced the DualSense in its help note, yet ideally it doesn’t take the organization a year this opportunity to incorporate the help for the DualSense and new Xbox controllers.
