Similar to other well-known automakers, Audi has assigned the e-tron sub-brand to their entirely electric automobiles. In addition, the Q4 55 e-tron quattro has received several improvements as it concludes its second year of sales.
Audi North America spokesperson Nathan Hoyt stated, “With this revised version, you get 258 miles of range, a pretty decent increase in power, and we’ve also improved charging speed.”
The systems that surround battery technology are always changing. It’s still not a cheap vehicle. The base price of even the entry-level Q4 e-tron variant is approximately $50,000. According to Audi, every e-tron model is a high-end car. That point is made very clear by the interior and the general level of luxury.
“It allows people to make that step, either from a volume brand (electric vehicle), the top of the volume brands to something premium, or to make that transition from a gas vehicle,” Hoyt said.
The Audi e-tron lineup continues to expand in order to support the possibility for transition. First up, there are two distinct body options available for the Q4. Next came the Q8 e-tron, which debuted as just the e-tron and was available as a sportback and regular SUV.
The six-figure electric super sport four-door, the e-tron GT, is the top of the series. And the future Q6 e-tron from Audi will shortly be joining the list. A new EV architecture for future electric Audi vehicles will also be unveiled in that one.
The business advises don’t worry if you prefer your cars to be gasoline-powered, specifically if you prefer your Audis to be gasoline-powered. They intend to keep those in place for a considerable amount of time.
Audi’s internal combustion models are quite popular and often sold to the same customers, especially the S-badged flagship S8 luxury sedan. Definitely, the corporation is switching to electric. However, don’t give up on gasoline entirely just yet.
“We’re going to see about 20 new vehicles introduced over the next two years. Half of those are gas, and half of them are electric. So our best combustion engines are still yet to come,” according to Hoyt.
Therefore, if you’re an EV enthusiast, Audi has a lot more in store. Additionally, there are a ton of resources available if you’re not in the EV camp and don’t want to be.
