The calendar shows the first major gaming show of the year, unless another one comes along in the meantime. On January 25 at 3 p.m. ET, an event will be held by Xbox and Bethesda. It will be available for viewing on the Twitch and YouTube channels of both brands.
Creatives from various studios will present the so-called Developer_Direct, which will focus on major features, gameplay, and additional information regarding titles coming to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass in the coming months. Whether third-party studios will be involved is unknown.
Forza Motorsport gameplay and additional information on the player vs. player experience in Minecraft Legends will be provided by Turn 10 Studios. This spring, those two games will be released. Redfall will also include improvements to the open world, customization, bosses, combat, and single-player vampire slaying. We can only hope that all of these games will also have specific release dates.
The Elder Scrolls Online’s major chapter update for this year will also be shown to you. Zenimax Online Studios will host an ESO Chapter Reveal Event to provide fans with additional information immediately following the Developer_Direct.
However, during the Developer_Direct, Starfield will hardly be seen at all. “To dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive,” according to Xbox, a standalone show is in the works for that game. The highly anticipated space RPG from Bethesda is expected to be released this summer.
Microsoft hopes to break free this year after a relatively quiet 2022 for first-party Xbox games. Several other games are expected to debut on Game Pass in the first half of 2023, including Cocoon, from the lead designer of Limbo, and a small project called Hollow Knight: Silksong.
