Happy Independence Day, Lebanon!
The present Doodle observes Lebanon’s Independence Day on the commemoration of the date in 1943 when the country broadcasted its self-rule after more than twenty years of French guideline.
Portrayed in the present Doodle craftsmanship is the Lebanese banner, which the nation formally received only weeks in the wake of affirming its power.
The flag’s red stripes represent the country’s battle for opportunity, while the white stripe in the middle represents harmony and the snow found in the country’s hilly districts.
At the center sits a green cedar tree, an image of toughness and life span that has populated the Lebanese scene for longer than a thousand years.
