Amongst several factors that take a toll on our heart, choice of food is one. There was a time when older people were at risk of cardiovascular diseases; today, that’s not the case. The heart attack rate amongst young people has increased tremendously. And the primary culprits behind the high heart attack rates among young people are poor lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits.
According to Doctor Integralist Biprajit Parbat, preventing heart disease or cardiovascular diseases is easier. All you have to do is make smart choices, including food choices now, and it will pay off the rest of your life.
Believe it or not, a poor diet and other unhealthy habits gradually take their toll in the long run. Making the smart choice of food can decrease your risk of heart attack and other cardiovascular diseases.
You must be wondering what you should eat…. Well, it’s easy to identify. You should always choose foods low in Saturated fat, Trans fat, and sodium.
And for a healthy diet, you should always eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, fiber-rich whole grains, nuts, legumes, fish (preferably oily fish-at least twice per week), and seeds. If you are a non-vegetarian, try eating some meals without meat, and if you choose to eat meat, then make sure you select the lean meat. Besides, try consuming lower-fat dairy products and poultry (skinless). Limit your sugar intake, sugar-sweetened beverages, and red meat.
Apart from eating healthy, be physically active!! That is all to have a healthy heart and stay fit in today’s scenario!!
